CCU honors graduation candidates at Aug. 8 commencement
Approximately 300 students were eligible to walk in Coastal Carolina University's summer graduation ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 8, at the HTC Center. Pam Martin, Ph.D., professor of politics and international relations, discussed the true value of their diplomas as they begin a new chapter in their lives and placed the new graduates' achievement in a global perspective. "Slightly under 7 percent of the world's population has the degree that you have earned today," she said. "Sixty percent of your fellow U.S. citizens do not have such a degree. Given these statistics, it is clear that you have something to celebrate today!"

At 11 a.m., Saturday, May 16, 514 graduates took center stage for Elizabethtown College's 112th Commencement. The class of 2015 boasts 77 earning their Master of Science degrees, 126 with Bachelor of Arts degrees, 282 with Bachelor of Science degrees, 15 who have earned their Bachelor of Music degrees and 14 with bachelor's degrees in social work. The Multicultural Student Bridge Program (MSBP) is a three-day pre-orientation program geared at providing incoming first year and transfer ALANA (African/African American, Latino, Asian and Native American) and multiracial students with a jump start on college life at Lebanon Valley College.
